I make small teams run on well-built technology.

Eleven years across UX design and engineering, the last six in Swiss medical publishing. Since 2024 I have been the whole technology function of a physician platform: the web platform, the newsletter automation, a 56k-doctor database, the integrations to the ERP, two mobile apps, two agencies and a company-wide move to Google Workspace. Scroll through what that looks like, or jump to the role you are hiring for.

It started with users, not servers.

Five years as a UX designer on Bookio, one of Slovakia's most widely used reservation systems, taught me to design for people who are busy and impatient. Two side projects showed what that looks like when it works.

Bookio · 2015–2020

Reservation system UX through a pivot

UX and visual design as the product moved from a restaurant discount portal to a multi-segment SaaS for restaurants, services and accommodation. Over 20 million reservations processed according to internal figures.

An open-data parking app, idea to store

Five months in the Butterfly Effect programme with mentors from Sygic and Pixel Federation. UX/UI on a five-person team that shipped a real-time parking app for Melbourne to Google Play. Written references from Sygic's Head of Design and the programme lead.

Then medical publishing, and the first team.

Three and a half years at an independent Swiss medical publisher and CME provider: first as web specialist and multimedia producer, UX/UI and web, then as Team Leader IT with three direct reports, budgets, an ERP and CRM introduction, live and on-demand CME webinars and congress video.

2020–2023 · Web specialist, multimedia producer

Advised vendors on the company websites, wrote specifications for the external development studio, delivered sponsored reports, interviews and webinars through e-newsletters, ran webinar streaming and congress video post-production, supported hybrid events.

2023 · Team Leader IT

IT projects and budgets for clients and the company, digital strategies, platform development with external programmers, ERP and CRM introduction, a team of three plus an external IT provider, data security. A UX Design Institute diploma in the same year.

Zapier workflows and Airtable automations

A loop-safe two-way subscriber sync between Mailchimp and the CRM, ERP order and invoice sync against the Bexio API with API budgets and circuit breakers, weekly table backups.

Mobile · 2024–2026
2 apps

Inherited, hardened, then replaced

Took over a Flutter and a SwiftUI podcast app: authentication migrated to the company identity, hardcoded credentials and open backend permissions remediated, store runbooks written. Then product-owned the agency-built successor from a seven-day PRD to Google Play launch, with a 17-finding QA audit and the auth root-cause analysis.

Scanner-safe magic-link SSO

Hashed, single-use links that survive corporate mail scanners, lazy account provisioning, privilege guards, and a JWT handoff into a third-party CME platform with no vendor backend changes.

05Principles
from the code

How I work, as the scripts show it.

These are not values from a slide. They are rules written into automations that run every hour against a live ERP and CRM.

Never overwrite a human entry.

The invoice auto-linker only fills empty fields. When its match disagrees with a person's, it appends one note and leaves the field alone.

Verify, then flag, then stop.

Deletion detection runs behind a circuit breaker: more than ten suspected deletions in one run and nothing is marked, everything is logged.

Give people an opt-out.

Anyone can write no-autolink into a record's notes and the automation skips it forever.

Budget the API, resume next time.

Each run has a fetch budget; work that does not fit is picked up on the next run instead of failing halfway.

Guard the loops.

The two-way subscriber sync only continues when the two systems' timestamps differ by more than five minutes.

AI writes with me, never alone.

I direct AI pair-programming from written specifications, with parity tests, permission scoping and review before anything ships. On a 788-commit product, 194 tests run in about a second.

07Looking for
2026 → 2027

What I am looking for next.

A role where one person's breadth is the point: technical operations and AI enablement, automation and integration engineering, product or forward-deployed engineering, or technical product ownership. On-site in Zürich or Zug, with a day or two of home office as a plus.

What you get

  • Someone who has run production systems alone and knows what breaks at 2 a.m.
  • Ten years of UX before the engineering, so the tools I build get used.
  • Integrations that respect the humans in the loop.
  • AI-assisted delivery with the governance most teams still lack: specs, tests, guardrails, review.
  • Six years of Swiss healthcare-media context: physicians, CME, pharma partners, data protection.

Practicalities

  • Zürich · Permit B EU/EFTA · available with one month's notice
  • Slovak C2 · Czech C2 · English B2 · German A2, certificate Nov 2026, B1 in progress
  • References and Arbeitszeugnisse on request; names withheld until you ask
